Caring Hearts of Utah was started by Jared and Judy Tolman.  

A personal experience caused them to consider a non-traditional option for in-home care.  Judy's mother was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2010.  The 3 months before she passed were filled with loved ones struggling to meet her needs.  There were visits from hospice nurses, but those were brief and only to evaluate her condition.  The family wanted to care for their mother and created complicated schedules to ensure someone would always be there.  It was a struggle to know how to best help as her condition continued to get worse.

What they needed was a trained professional who could be with her 24/7, to help with every aspect of needed daily tasks.  As they recovered from the loss of her loving mother, they started talking about the idea of a company who would provide the live-in care that was so needed.  Allowing people to stay in their homes where they are most comfortable, instead of moving to a facility where they would feel like a number.  Creating a scenario where family members visit and enjoy their time together, instead of worrying about the details of care.
